A self-taught drummer with 20 years of experience, Jahsun is one of the most sought after drummers in the reggae-afro-soul-funk-hiphop genres. He is renowned for crossing musical boundaries and implementing his finely tuned skills in live improvisation. Jahsun has played with most internationally renowned reggae artists and toured across Canada, the United States and the Carribbean. In addition to being a critical element of several Montreal-based groups, such as OneSun, Ark of Infinity, Black Soil, Inword and The EQ, his influential sound and imaginative beats provide a foundation for creative expression in all forms.

Anastasia Culurides

Anastasia has been playing bass years for 4 years. In this time she has recorded two full length albums, one EP and continues to work on varying recording projects. Her full time band is called Creature, in which she participates in composiing and arranging. The Montreal Gazette called them, band to watch for in 2007. They are being shopped by a well respected lawyer in the industry and expect a record deal by the end of the year. Anastasia personal pursuits are the study of jazz improvisation. The first sessions of Kalmunity were held in her loft, which is where the inspiration to play was cultivated and nurtured. |

Jason "Blackbird" Selman

A graduate of Concordia University with a BFA (specialization in Jazz Studies), Jason Selman has been performing on the Montreal Arts scene as both Performance Poet and Musician for the last 10 years. In addition using these talents in the service of Montreal’s Black Theatre Workshop “Youth Works” youth theatre program and releasing his first self-published collection of poems, Psychological, in 2003, he is currently working on a collection of jazz poems entitled The Freedom I Stole. In May 2005 he began producing Intimate Sky , a poetry, music and song series and a branch of Kalmunity.

Haïti, mars 1983, Jah Nice, né Joël Janis, voit le jour dans un petit village appelé Laval. Se retrouvant orphelin peu après sa naissance il est adopté par une famille québecoise. C' est donc à Shawinigan, en Mauricie, qu' il fait ses premiers pas dans le monde artistique. Il s'essaie dabord au dessin, a la poésie et tout naturellement au chant. Voulant tenter sa chance dans la grande métropole, il s'intalle à Montréal en 2003. Tout en évoluant au sein du KalmUnity Vibe Collective il se consacre à sa carrière solo. Jah Nice est un enfant de village. Il exprime cette dualité, du Québec à Haïti, du village à la ville. Il nous ramène à ce soul, cette foi en la vie, cette énergie communicative.
